Spring!

We made it! It's Spring!

We won't say anything about it really having been in the teens last night and not a peep about the possibility of snow this weekend. ;-)

Oh and just so everyone knows... a comment was left to check out a flower called "snowdrops". I did and that is the mystery "white non-crocus" i reported on earlier.

One day til Spring

I did see a crocus today. I did I did. It was purple.

Just so no one gets too excited, it's supposed to be in the teens tonight. Also, it was snowing in Traverse City this afternoon.

Two days til Spring

I have a correction to make. What I thought was a white crocus, isn't. However, it is still alive. It seems to be a four petal flower. It is white. However, the blossoms hangs down. It's very lovely and delicate, but i'm not sure what it is. Any suggestions?

Another sign of spring... someone on third shift rode their motorcycle to work last night. :-D

My neighbors have been raking and cleaning up their yards. I asked one who has a wonderful yard if it was a bit early to be doing the spring clean up. He confirmed that it was.

Oh and of course, yesterday was St. Patrick's Day. Yes, indeed-y... spring is nigh. :-)

Four days til Spring

I saw a robin yesterday for the first time this year. Yep spring is coming.

I also have Box Elder bugs infesting the front of my house. It is also a sign that spring is coming, but not as nice a one as seeing the robin.

Ten days til Spring

We are getting there. Today is the last full moon of winter. Which means it also should be the last cold snap of the winter too. Please, no one hold your breath.

I saw a rabbit last night when i walked the dogs. But i think it was the same rabbit i saw in December. I thought rabbits are supposed to hibernate. Aren't they?

By the way, if you missed it, this is one of the more interesting things that happened in Michigan this week.

I hope you can see it. I'll have to check back in a week or so to make sure the link is still working.

Eleven days til Spring

Saturday i saw a flock of geese heading north.
Sunday night it snowed.
Monday at 11am there was still snow and ice on the sidewalks.
Monday by 2pm the snow and ice was mostly melted.
Spring cannot come fast enough.
I've had people from the Southwest tell me it looks like it's going to be a very hot summer this year down there.

Fourteen days til Spring

The high yesterday was 55 degrees and about 10pm EST it was still about 48 degrees.
This morning about 6:30am EST it was about 50 degrees.
Today's high was about 55 degrees and sunny. It was beautiful.
Sadly, the low tonight is supposed to be 31.

There is another sign of Spring that i forgot to mention earlier. The fancy ice cream parlor near my home is open again! It closes for the winter and opens March 1st.

See you Monday!

Fifteen days til Spring - I recommend...

I read Day 10 in The Purpose Driven Life last night.

If you've not read this book i'd recommend it. If you have read it, i recommend re-reading Day 10.

The main idea is that "The heart of worship is surrender".

ouch.

double ouch.

sigh.

Father forgive me for i have sinned. I have taken back what i had previously surrendered. I have refused to surrender what You have asked me to let go of... i have not trusted You... heal me Lord...

Sixteen days til Spring

The cold snap is starting to lift. It's a balmy 32 out right now. Tomorrow it's supposed to be in the 40's.
I am seeing more signs of spring tho'.
I've seen St. Patrick's Day decorations appearing around the neighborhood and the cubicles at work. I've also see Easter candy appearing in the stores.
yep, spring's coming. hehehe.

Nineteen Days til Spring

Well, i didn't quite start this on the first of March did i?

I could tell you about using my new used laptop out in the kitchen finally and how the cat stepped on the keyboard and the IE window closed. But i won't. Especially since i wasn't even in my blog. :-)

Just so you don't get the wrong idea. It's not spring yet. It was just over zero degrees last night when i walked the dogs. I was sad. I really don't think the crocus i saw will make it.

However, it was sunny today, even if it wasn't warm.

Oh yes, and the East coast would also agree that it's not spring yet.
